Project Proposal - Plaster Carving

I think I wanna do a plaster carving of a giraffe eating from a tree, and this is picture is almost exactly what I see in my head. Since this is my art last project I want it to be good and I kinda want it to be big. So I think It should be about 2 feet high, 1 foot in width and 1.5 feet in length.
I also think it should be blue! =)

Not sure who my audience would be. But maybe if my project is good enough I can get it into the zoo! idk

  1. I like that your name is Brandon (Not Benitez). It made me smile.
Also your idea is cutie and I like that you're going to make it blue! I like that you are using plaster because plaster is SO hard for me, and I totally respect how much intricate work it takes.

  2. I like the idea of the spots either being raised or sunk in a little instead of being level with the rest of the skin. I'm not sure about the whole blue thing, but if you do it right it could turn out amazing.

  3. Brandon kinda like your idea but are you sure about that scale because it will take long time to carve that giraffe (This is what i think)

  4. How about some abstraction? I think that was one of the things that was most successful about your bird plaster artwork. Break down the giraffe to it's essentials- looonnnngggggg neck and repetition of pattern-
    Just a thought!
How are you going to paint it blue?
